Our Mission
Cape International Language Academy (CILA) seeks to empower our international community on Cape Cod to participate fully in the local economy through world-class language instruction; to provide foreign language instruction to English-speaking business owners, health care professionals, law enforcement, and first responders; to enable English speakers to engage with people from other cultures using different languages, both locally and abroad.

known for excellence in curriculum design, teaching,
professional development, and cross-cultural understanding.
Clara Mesonero
CILA’s co-founder and CEO, was educated in the United States,
Spain and Germany, and has been promoting cultural exchange and understanding on Cape Cod for two decades. A practicing pathologist in Hyannis who has been awarded for her medical teaching appointments, she is also a past president of the
Osterville Rotary Club and owner of Linguistic Communication Services LLC.
John Vazquez
CILA’s co-founder and COO, is a leader in community
engagement and an experienced language teacher. John has led initiatives in community health, tenants rights and other social issues that closely align with CILA’s mission. He has also taught visual arts, community recreation and communications. He teaches at Cape Cod Community College (Adult ESOL Program) and at St. John Paul II High School (Spanish.) He is also a medical interpreter.
